What Programs Does Providence Offer?
Each course offered under our CNA Training Program in Daly City, California, is a separate program. Upon completion of the Nurse Assistant Training Program, the student doesn’t need to take the Home Health Aide Training Program. However, any Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A.) who graduated from our institution or another school and who intends to work in a Certified Home Health Agency has the option to take the Home Health Aide Training Program to become a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA).
The Home Health Aide Training is an optional class for additional learning opportunities for those who are already CNAs.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
are offered to assist CNAs and CHHAs complete their requirements for continued licensure. CNAs and CHHAs may take CEU classes from other schools and from hospitals/facilities that were approved by the California Department of Public Health. The institution generally provides CEU classes once a week. The scheduled class is usually equivalent to eight (8) units. One (1) hour of classroom instruction is equivalent to one (1) continuing education unit (CEU). There are different topics discussed in each class and each topic is equivalent to a unit or units as approved by the California Department of Public Health. A CNA/HHA may attend the whole 8-unit session or may attend just part of the class according to his/her needs. For example, a CNA/HHA who needs only 4 units may only attend and pay for the number of units attended. He/She does not have to stay for the full 8 units/hours. He/She will only receive credit for the number of units/hours attended on that day.
CPR — Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is offered to healthcare providers to learn to recognize and respond to emergencies and to know how to perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in and out of hospital settings. Anyone interested to learn how to perform CPR in and out of a hospital setting can take this course.
